TERRY MASTERS OILS 9 – 12 NOON Terry was raised here in the desert and has a beautiful appreciation of our valley and desert life. This class covers beginners to advances students. His art is nationally known and collected by our desert community also. One of his more recent works was a commissioned landscape painting for the O’Donnell Golf Club. Carolyn is new to us this year but certainly not new to the art community. She has lived in the Southern California Desert for the past 30 years had very well attended classes in the Coachella Valley. She has had major gallery exhibits throughout the United States and garnered top awards. She has participated in renowned shows such as the Palm Springs Museum, Southwest Art Festival, Scottsdale and Arabian Shows and Oil Painters of America. She currently exhibits at Danskin Gallery in Palm Desert. THURSDAY MERIDY VOLZ LIFE DRAWING 9 – 12 PM Meridy came to us last year and she has become so popular her classes are always full. The purpose of this class is to teach the student to render the figure. Using a nude model you will be given exercises to loosen you up. This will promote freedom of expression in all your work as well as training your eye to see. She begins each class with a warm-up exercises moving to emphasis on line, use of negative space and finally color. DAVID FAIRRINGTON OILS 9 – 12 NOON David Fairrington has an extensive background in painting and drawing as a designer of over 100 posters for the movie industry painting over 500 personal portraits, ballet portraits and as a Combat artist covering the Vietnam War for the United States Army. FRIDAY We are fortunate that Rafael is able to come to teach with us this fall after being away for a year. He has been missed by all of his students. Rafael is a premier artist from the Phillipines where he is known as the “master painter of portraits”. He owned his own gallery before coming to the United States and has made his name in the art world with his beautiful paintings if figures and landscapes.
